Have a Question?
What is a Goldendoodle?
The basic answer: A Goldendoodle is a puppy created by breeding a Golden Retriever with a Poodle. Goldendoodles offers the personality and temperament of a golden with the benefits of the low-to-non shedding coat of a Poodle.
The complicated answer: Goldendoodles are a various blend of Golden Retriever and Poodle. The size distinctions (Micro, Mini, Medium, Standard) and generations labels (F1, F1b, Multigen) can give you a clue as to their genetic makeup, but there are SO many combinations, and it's important for you to know exactly what you are looking for. I'm happy to help with any questions!
How big will my Goldendoodle get?
Our Micro (also known as petite or toy) sized puppies are estimated at 8-12 lbs as adults.
Mini sized doodles can be from 15-30, most of our parents should produce puppies around 20 lbs. Dogs around 20-25lbs are completely able to keep up on hikes and outdoor adventures, but don't take up quite so much couch space.
We don't breed any larger sizes, but Medium and Standard Doodles are out there, and can range anywhere from 30-100lbs!
How does the deposit/buying process work?
I do my very best to have homes lined up for my puppies before they are born, but at the same time, I REALLY dislike the norm of taking deposits months and years in advance. That isn't fair for the family waiting, and it creates a lot of extra work on my end, and with lots of little humans and puppies needing my attention, I have to limit that work.
So with that said, before puppies are born, I have an informal "let me know!" list of everyone that wants to be notified when puppies are born. Once the puppies are here and healthy, I contact everyone on that list in order, and allow deposits to be made.
Deposits are $500, and are ALWAYS refundable. I don't want anyone to feel forced to take a puppy that they aren't 100% excited about, and I have heard too many sad stories of families losing their deposits.
Final payments are due at pickup, and are paid through Zelle or Cash only.
What is the cost of a Goldendoodle?
This varies quite a bit depending on size (small mommas have smaller litters, so they are harder to produce) as well as generation. Our puppies are raised to the top standards with an advanced curriculum, and as such, will receive the top level of care as puppies. They will go home with all recommended deworming, shots, and a microchip already in place. Pricing ranges from $2500 for F1/larger minis, to $4000 for F1b micro sizes. Cavapoos are also on the higher end.
Are Goldendoodles hypoallergenic?
The simple answer is no. Anyone who says a doodle is hypoallergenic is stretching a bit. All puppies that have the doodle coat will have far less shedding, and far less allergic interactions with humans vs. their normal counterpart. Now with that said, there are MANY families and individuals that have found their life-long dog allergy is not irritated by the F1b generation of goldendoodle.
F1b (which essentially means they are approximately a 25% golden retrivever/ 75% poodle) generation has been shown to be the very best for mild to moderate allergies.
If someone in your family has severe allergies, please try to interact with a goldendoodle nearby, or ask about a t-shirt test.
Why should I buy vs. adopt?
This is a very touchy subject for a lot of breeders or animal advocates. As a mother, The number one reason I never wanted to adopt a dog was because I didn't know their history, and couldn't be 100% sure of my child's safety. By buying from a reputable breeder, I know my puppy had a loving home from day one. As a breeder, I do everything I can to help support all of my puppies and families as they grow. I never want any of my puppies to go to a shelter, and I always want to be responsible for their future. So either way you choose- adopt or shop- Do it responsibly and do your homework.
